Grading of via ferrata in France

This is a French and Swiss difficulty scale :

F for easy ( A English scale) , children can make it.
P.D. for few difficult ( no English grade), good for V.F. initiation.
A.D. for enough difficult ( B ).
D. for difficult ( C ), it means technical, exposed and training necessary.
T.D. for very difficult ( D ) more technical and exposed.
E.D. for extremely difficult ( E ), highest technical level.
Sometimes you can find near the grade letter one sign : + ou - to give us more precision about V.F. level.

But this French scale is not a satisfactory scale because any V.F. are overevaluated. You can discover the real V.F. level by chatting with ferratists.

V.F . difficult have way out which change the grade. Discover yourself your own level by training on easy V.F. , then less easyer.

Germany and Austria have the most difficult V.F. of Europe. For those countries you may right use the word « extremely ». It’s not the same situation in France : extremely means the most difficult V.F.
